Happy Halloween
Today is one of my favorite times of year. I love the changing of the weather and the fall colors coming forth. After months of Southern California heat, I am always glad to feel the air cool a bit. But what I enjoy most about Halloween is the holiday itself – the decorations, carving pumpkins, costumes, haunted house attractions, the parties, the food, the carnivals. I love the whole thing. Watching the joy my niece and nephews get trick-or-treating in their requisite Marvel superhero costumes is an incredible experience. It’s a time of carefree frivolity and make believe.
The PIU office is no different. Almost every employee anticipates this day to let their creativity loose, and instead of our usual formal business attire, we get to relish in fantasy and dress in costumes that make each other laugh. We are still working hard mind you, but today we will have a bit more fun than usual. We will enjoy this day and I hope you will too, because we all need an occasional break from reality, as real life can be scarier than the most gruesome of fairytales.
As we are all well aware of recent tragedies like the hurricanes that hit Texas and Florida, the wildfires in California and the senseless attack in Las Vegas, it becomes even more apparent that life is very fragile. We must make significant strides to take care of those around us and be mindful of the dangers of this world. As insurance professionals we can continue to provide peace of mind and financial protection to those in need. But always remember to enjoy today, and have a safe Halloween.
